2016 Sturbridge Ice Races

The third session of the Sturbridge Ice Races took place on February 14, Valentines Day, and this winter's weather extremes continue. While the last race weekend saw record high temperatures, this session saw record low temperatures. 12 to 15 below was the norm early in the morning and it never got above 5 all day with a stiff NW wind added to the mix. Although the crowd was thin, the ice was perfect and there were plenty of racers.
