  • Osprey - Wellfleet, MA. One of the young still camps out on the nest now and then throughout the day. I hope it will fair well during Earl's visit. 9/2/10 - IMG_8446dK

  • As hurricane Earl approaches, the one remaining young osprey seems to be hunkering down in the nest. I saw it carrying a good size fish earlier in the day so it seems to have honed it's hunting skills. 9/3/2010 - IMG_8528dK
  • Glad to see that Earl (the storm that never was) had little effect on our last remaining Wellfleet osprey - it was sitting on the nest this morning, squawking as usual... 9/4/2010 - IMG_8641dK
  • Bon Voyage, my friend. As of 9/10/2010 it appears that the last of the Wellfleet ospreys has headed south - there has been no activity in the nest since right after Earl. This season has been great fun and we look forward to 2011 and the next family of these magnificent birds.
