TORNADO JUNE 1, 2011
A note to our friends and all the fans of wellfleetosprey.com - A week after we returned from a wonderful, but all too short, vacation to California (thank you Glen and Kathy!!) our Willard Rd. neighborhood suffered a direct hit from the June 1 tornado. The highest speed winds were about 100 yards away so our house and Jen's, next door, suffered only minor damage but we lost over 40 big trees. Everyone is well. Through the generosity of friends and strangers and the concern and cooperation of the community at large the cleanup is continuing and the rebuilding has begun. I have added a gallery of photos, including aerials of the track and needless to say, it may be some time before I can get back to Wellfleet to continue this year's osprey project.
Thank you Sturbridge, for your response to this event, we are all proud to be a part of a community where the common good is the common goal.
